Every calculator on SumCulator uses established, industry-standard formulas:
Mortgage & Loans — Standard amortisation formula (monthly compounding) BMR & Calories — Mifflin–St Jeor equation (most validated for general use) Heart Rate Zones — Karvonen Heart Rate Reserve method Wind Chill — Environment Canada / NWS joint 2001 formula Heat Index — NWS Rothfusz regression equation Dew Point — Magnus formula (Lawrence 2005 approximation) Zakat Nisab — Silver standard (612.36g) per scholarly consensus, with gold reference (87.48g) Hijri Calendar — Astronomical Julian Day Number algorithm Golf Handicap — World Handicap System (WHS) 2020 standard (best 8 of last 20 × 0.96) Compound Interest — Future Value of annuity (continuous contribution model) Molecular Weight — IUPAC 2021 standard atomic weights
While SumCulator strives for accuracy, it is an informational tool and should not be used as the sole basis for significant financial, medical, legal, or engineering decisions. Always consult a qualified professional where precision is critical.
☪️ A Note on the Islamic Calculators
SumCulator includes a dedicated Islamic finance and worship section built with care and respect. The Zakat Calculator accounts for all major asset classes — cash, gold, silver, stocks, business inventory, and receivables — deducted against liabilities, and compared against both the gold and silver Nisab thresholds. The Fidya & Kaffarah tool covers both types of missed-fast compensation. The Hijri Converter uses the astronomical Julian Day algorithm for reliable date conversion in both directions. These tools are provided as helpful references; for your specific religious obligations, please consult a qualified Islamic scholar.
🔒 Your Privacy, Guaranteed
SumCulator takes privacy seriously — not as a marketing claim, but as a design principle. Here's what that means in practice:
✅ No accounts required Open the site and start calculating. Nothing to create, nothing to remember.
✅ Calculations stay private Your inputs never leave your device. Every calculation runs locally in JavaScript.
✅ No tracking without consent Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them. Reject, and nothing is loaded. No ads, ever.
✅ No internet required Once loaded, every calculator works without a network connection.
🛠 Technology
SumCulator is built from scratch using pure HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript — no frameworks, no build tools, and no npm packages. External requests are limited to two Google Fonts (DM Sans and DM Serif Display), Google Analytics (loaded only with your consent), and a live exchange-rate API used solely by the Currency Converter. The main application ships as a single self-contained HTML file.
This means it loads in milliseconds, runs on every modern browser including Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android, Firefox, and Edge — and requires zero maintenance infrastructure. It's as reliable as a web page can be.
